Little Princess is ONE Today!

I have accomplished my first 365 days 'mission' to be mummy to my little princess.
There were those initial struggles which all first time mums would (have) to go through; breastfeeding pains, post-natal depression, first teething pains,....but I survived!
Miss K has brought lots of sunshine to our lives. Her smile and mischievious demeanour never failed to brighten our day!
I'm definitely looking forward to the next stage of my motherhood journey.

28th August 2010, Saturday

It was a Princess themed birthday party...

To add to the list of achievements this year, I successfully baked Miss K's princess cupcakes and Birthday cake/cupcakes. It was my maiden attempt at decorating cupcakes and was glad it turned out alright.

Happy Birthday lil' one!

Baby Chair...& 'picnik'

Such a shame I only managed to take 2 pictures of the baby chairs Miss K sat in while in Malacca...they were all really classic looking ones...don't think one will ever find these in Singapore these days.

Stumbled upon the picnik application in picasa...its a fun way to 'dress up' my boring photos!

Miss K's first road trip

Decided on a road trip to Malacca last friday. We needed a short weekend getaway and was glad that we chose to drive up to malacca. The roads in malacca were not as crazy as those in KL and its a short 3 hours' drive on the north-south expressway.
Miss K was so well behaved throughout the journey to and from Malacca.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Malacca, which was new and most importantly, CLEAN. (Nothing irks me more than a grummy hotel room!)
Breakfast spread was good. However, its a little far from the central historical sites of malacca (no qualms here as we drove to most places)

Two things which Miss K loves about the hotel:
- Her baby cot, which she slept really well in for the 2 nights we were there.
- Full length glass window, which she loves to cruise along and look at the cars zooming pass at the highway.

Mummy's Little helper...

I can see the clean freak in me being manifested in Miss K.
I caught her playing with a piece of wetwipe one day...(she knows how to press the 'tab' on the pigeon wetwipe box to open and pull out a wetwipe)
And guess what she uses the wipe for!?
Take a look at the video.

Miss K and her "new" Playard

I finally decided to get a playard for Miss K as I reckon her current playpen is getting too small and too restrictive. Managed to get a preloved 6-panel Haenim playard for a really good price ($50). Now I don't need to worry about her crawling away while I change her at night (and on weekends). NB. Blur-ish pic as Miss K kept on moving and I was using my mobile phone to capture this!

Miss K loves books!

Miss K's favourite book at 5 months old was Buzzy Bug.
At 6 months, "Who lives in the rainforest" was added to the "favourite list".
At 8 months, Miss K lost interest in books... I guess this was when she started to crawl and explore other things in the house, which I guess is much more interesting!
And now at 11 months, she loves her nursery rhymes and the bilingual 'colour' books, especially RED.

First B'day with my little princess

I woke up this morning feeling very blessed. God has blessed me with so many things in life...I know its impossible to list them all but I'm really thankful for: - a healthy and beautiful daughter - a very patient and loving husband - my parents who gave me such a good life; mum who is always on 'standby' and flies over when i send out my SOS calls (Thanks, mum!) and dad who's always been my mentor and advisor. - My siblings who are always there for me. - Our westie who has been such a great pup (and companion when hubs travels) and is somewhat being neglected after Miss K came along. - a job which I'm growing to like and best of all, God has blessed me with 30+ beautiful years - Thank you, Lord~! My little princess was so happy when i dressed her up for church this morning:

Miss K's dinner

For the coming week (i prepare her weekly dinner on weekends & freeze them) Miss K will be having Steamed cod with potato medley (white and sweet potato) and broccoli.

Another year gone by...

This Birthday will be somewhat different.
Hubby's travelling again; matter of fact, he just left for the airport,... on the eve of my brithday *sigh*. It will be the first birthday without him since i came to Singapore...
On a happier note, it will be my first birthday with my little princess!!! I feel so blessed.
Had my birthday lunch at Ikoi Jap restaurant at Miramar Hotel. We had the tatami seats, so Miss K had to sit at the tatami with us....not the best for babies I have to say!
Food was not bad...but having to entertain a fidgety baby who was not used to seating on a tatami was not fun!
(I have to add that a waitress called Helen was TERRIBLE! unfriendly and rude)

Tea at Max Brenner (vivocity) was a tad nicer as Miss K wanted her milky-milky so we put her in her stroller with her bottle, while we had our waffles and really rich chocolate drink. Although they do not have high chair for babies, the service staff there are really friendly.
Its really chocolate paradise, but we felt intoxicated with too much chocolate after that!...severely overdosed!
I'll visit again when i need my chocolate fix.

Miss K vs. The Red Dragon

Lunch time post is the only way I could keep up with a blog entry every (alternate) day. Miss K loves fruits. I started her on apple and pear puree - homemade of course, when she turned 6 months old. And recently, she has a liking for The Red Dragon Fruit! Here's a video of her devouring the dragon!

The Day I became a Mum

Reminiscing the past, I have decided to do a little write-up (so I'll never forget the little milestones achieved by my little princess from 0 to 10 months)
Here goes...
It was 12:50pm, 30th August 2009; 36 hours post-induction,finally,... my little princess arrived.
Weighing in at 2.54kgs, 46cm in length and a head circumference of 33cm she was a really tiny little princess!
The photo collage below tracks her ever-changing features from month 2 till month 10 (by row;left to right).

First word " PaPa" @ 7 months
First sip from a straw @ 7.5 months
First tooth @ 8 months
First crawl @ 8.5 months

Blogger Newbie

Little Miss K had just turned 11 months, 3 days ago! Time flies. I had wanted to start this blog when I was still on maternity leave but this brilliant plan of mine did not materialise. I somehow regretted not starting this blog earlier... Oh well, moving forward, I hope that this blog will be a chronicle of Miss K's growing up years and my journey into motherhood.
